The Smol Haos Toilet (SHT) Project is a grassroots organization dedicated to advancing health and education equity for women and girls across Vanuatu. Our work began from lived experience in communities where access to clean water, safe sanitation, and reliable healthcare is limited, yet the strength of family and community runs deep.
We focus on one of the most powerful, overlooked tools for saving lives: sanitation. By building and restoring toilets, water systems, maternity wards, and clinic infrastructure, we help ensure that mothers can give birth safely, girls can stay in school, and families can thrive. Our community‑led projects — like the Ioananen Clinic Restoration — demonstrate how local partnership and sustainable design create long‑term impact.
Because the toilet is the single most impactful catalyst for maternal health, economic growth, and human potential.
IMPACT OF OUR WORK
Every great change starts with a single community. Today, we’ve delivered clean, reliable sanitation to a clinic serving 10,000 people—ensuring that 300+ patients and 10 newborns every month finally have the safe, hygienic medical care they deserve.
